Mr. and Mrs. Ray Larsen, Arlington Heights, Ill., have returned home from a winter in Florida and are making plans for an extended tour of Scandana-vian countries. Pat Filippi, immediate past-president, Cook County Chapter, was a ringsider at the Patterson-Johannson heavy-ight title match last month in mi.

Bill Nelson's many friends and CAA colleagues extend their sympathy on the death of his father, John Nelson, April 7, in Washington. Harold Peterson, MCAA past president, was a panel member on an archi-tect-contractor panel at the second block conference held last month in Chicago.

Members of the St. Louis Chapter, MCAA, presented immediate past-president Roy B. Farrell with a watch in appreciation of his work for the chapter and masonry over the past two years. The presentation was made at the annual installation banquet Jan. 28 at the Chase Hotel. The chapter also presented a gift to Tony Reinschmidt for services rendered as cus-todian. Tony does a mean job of cater-ing at regular meetings of the St. Louis group. Les Dietrich MC'd the presentations.

George W. Reed & Associates, Inc., masonry contractors, have moved to 464 Clementina St., San Francisco. Peer Pedersen, MCAA's legal counsel, is recuperating from a broken ankle suffered last month.

According to the Idea Bulletin, published for executives concerned with group meetings, three days is the pre-ferred length for conventions. Of 14 organizations responding to the sur-vey, the majority preferred 3-day ses-sions. About one-third permit wives to attend conventions and meetings. Clyde L. Stewart, former production manager for Illinois Brick Co., Chi-cago, is now associated with Cedar Rapids (la.) Block Co. Stewart has been active in the block industry for many years and is a past-president of the Autoclave Building Products Association.

Dick and Mary Kacena of Anchor Manufacturing Co., Chicago, spent several weeks in the Bahamas this past season pursuing their favorite sport of skin diving. Douglas Whitlock, board chairman of SCPI, will be honored by the American Insti-tute of Architects in annual conven-tion this month as one of six non-architects who has "rendered distin-guished" service either to the profes-sion or the allied arts and sciences.

C. O. Henriksen has temporarily deserted his Florida island home for an extended business tour on the west coast, following which he will continue on to New York and other points in the east. Our apologies to Tony Kesman, Cook County MCA, for not moving him to LaGrange Park, Ill., his present home. We credited him from Brookfield, Ill., his previous residence.

Bob Rawlins, Pittsburgh-Corning Corp., spoke recently before members.
