Eight Years on Morgen Scaffolding - and Still Going Strong!
"Morgen Scaffolding is a real money-maker! We bought our first set eight years ago and it shows no sign of quitting."
At the site of the Chateau Royale Apartments in Chattanooga, Tenn. job superintendent Charlton Thomas has this to say about Morgen Scaffolding:
"1. We're placing more masonry units in the wall per day. 20% to 30% more production per man per day than on pipe scaffolding.
2. Scaffolding cost is much lower. We move two completely assembled towers into position with a fork lift eliminating much of the hand labor involved in moving and setting up pipe scaffolding.
3. No re-scaffolding. With Morgen towers, there is only one set-up for the complete height of the wall. Work platforms are winched up to keep pace with the masonry progress."
Most contractors don't reveal their trade secrets like this, but after eight years Garland-Sherman Co. figures the competitors can see what they're doing to make money on masonry.
