LABOR DEPT. REPORTS

The year's advance notice is given to allow administrators of plans, and ensurance companies who supply information essential to most reports, plenty of time to make whatever changes are necessary to produce the detail needed.

Changes in the annual report, known as Form D-2, are expected to provide more complete and meaningful public disclosure of pertinent financial detail.

Included among the revisions are requirements for:
* A more detailed breakdown of the insurance premium dollar
* Additional actuarial data-information showing how premiums and benefit costs are arrived at
* Expand reporting of assets and liabilities of the plans
* Changes in the method of reporting receipts and disbursements.

The revised Form D-2 must be used for reports covering fiscal years ending on or after December 31, 1966. The Annual Financial Report, Form D-2 Revised, was announced in The Federal Register on Saturday, December 18, 1965. Copies are available in the Department's Office of Labor-Management and Welfare-Pension Reports at Washington and at all field locations.
