Roto Hammer
A new gasoline-driven Roto-Hammer has been announced by Skil Corporation, Chicago power tool manufacturer. Model 628's self-contained power supply adds a new dimension of portability to concrete drilling and chipping, according to the manufacturer.
Besides making up to two inch holes anywhere without electricity, the new Roto-Hammer operates upside down for jobs close to the ground or next to walls and ceilings. An all attitude carburetor allows full-speed operation in any position. Skil claims the built-in power supply also eliminates complications from tangled cables and air hoses.
Like all Skil electric Roto Hammers, Model 628 offers three way action for hammering with power rotation, hammering without rotation or drilling without hammering.
One filling of the two quart gas tank generally provides enough fuel for a full day's work. The one cylinder, two cycle engine developes & horsepower at 3000 RPM. A centrifugal type clutch permits engine starting without operating the hammering mechanism. The clutch also disengages if the drill bit binds.
A tug at the twisted nylon starter cord activates the 6285s magneto ignition. Equipped with adapter, chuck and the desired tool also doubles as a heavy-duty" drill. Carrying case, can of oil, detachable side handle, dust shield, spark plug wrench, hex wrench and screwdriver come with each gas engine Roto-Hammer.
More information on these and other Skil contractors tools is available by writing Skil Corporation, 5033 N. Elston Avenue, Chicago 60630.
Safety Blades
Clippper Manufacturing Co., developed a new series of Blue Bond Safety Blades for sawing masonry and concrete materials, Successor to the original Blue Bond series, these new blades are known as the Blue Bond MR-800B series, and are available in a wide range of specifications, With the MR-800B Blue Bond Safety Blades, you can match the blade to the cutting application.
Clipper MR-800B Blue Bond blades are made with blocky shaped abrasive grit which is considerably stronger than the odd shaped slivers found in ordinary unprocessed Silicon Carbide. With the abrasive grains holding their cutting edge longer, the resin bonding material can be made more durable for longer blade life at no sacrifice in cutting speed.
Only Clipper MR-800B Blue Bonds are made with patented "Leno Weave" reinforcing for proper mesh opening size and uniformity. Mesh openings are firmly interlocked to assure uniform size. Each strand is securely imbedded in the blade for maximum strength and safety. Blades cut faster becanse the exclusive "Leno Weave" process exposes more abrasive grains on the sides and edges of the blade for ample side clearance. The reinforcing mesh does not slow down cutting.
Best of all, Clipper MR-800B Blue Bonds cost less. Savings accrued from automation and improved processes are passed on to the customer. Matching the material to be cut results in lower cost per cut.
