Planetarium. Don't just assume the show is too scientific for you. You'll wind up understanding time and space a little better. Let them know how far out of the great indoors you want to go, and they'll send you. And have you ever seen a full-sized dinosaur? Would your wife enjoy a 5,890-carat blue topaz? Can you pick out the paintings done by three talented chimpanzees? These are off-beat examples, of course, but they are only three of thousands of displays at the Field Museum of Natural History. It's the world's showplace of natural history and anthropology. Visit it, and you'll probably find out some things about yourself you never knew.

The Chicago Bears, Cubs and White Sox won't be playing in February, but the hockey Blackhawks and pro basketball Bulls will. Watching these teams in action is alone worth coming to Chicago. The city's college basketball teams, Northwestern, Loyola and DePaul, work as hard as the pros do and are nearly as slick. If you're a round-ball fan, the action's in Chicago.

And when it comes to dining, you'll find an international flavor in Chicago. The city revels in its melting-pot heritage. There's smorgasbord as good as you've ever tasted, even if you're from Sweden. If your tastes are more exotic, try some bear steak, yak flambe', buffalo flank, or Lake Michigan lake trout. Whatever your gastronomical desires may be, Chicago is sure to satisfy them.

And you can attend the legitimate theatre, the ballet, the symphony, or a puppet show.

Chicago is waiting for you. All you need do is get there. Preferably between February 14 and 17.
