PROFIT

New Jointing Product
Stonhard Company of Maple Shade, New Jersey, is marketing a corrosion-resistant jointing product designed for brick or quarry tile floors. The name of this product is Stonlok.

Stonlok is an epoxy formulation which is reported to be many times stronger than concrete in compressive strength and will not chip, crack or wear away under heaviest, abrasive traffic. In addition, it has no cement content and will not react with acids, alkalies, salts, foods, oils, detergents, and most other corrosive spillages.

Stonlok is applied as a dense, non-shrinking mortar that locks tightly into joints to prevent erosive spillages from contacting and destroying the base slab.

Stonlok is packaged in factory-proportioned batches to assure a consistent mortar mix batch after batch. The simplified mixing and installation instructions permit any maintenance staff to do the job quickly and correctly. And Stonlok is a fast-curing product; it can be installed in the morning and walked on in the afternoon-it will take truck traffic the next day.

New Construction Anchor
A collapsible plastic collar on a new medium-duty construction anchor allows the nut to be tightened completely for the first time, according to the Construction Tools Division of Omark Industries. The anchor, called "Gold Digger," is the first offered to the construction industry with a collapsible collar. It was designed by Omark and effectively fastens metal sections or wood to concrete, construction block or brick.

Lewis Scott, engineering manager, said the plastic collar sits above the anchor's rigid metal sleeve and resists crushing while the anchor is locked in a hole by turning the nut. When the anchor is fixed securely in the hole the nut continues turning under increased torque and the collar collapses; this allows the nut to move further downward on the thread.

"It is the first anchor of its type that makes it possible for the material being fastened to be brought completely into contact with the work surface and held firmly," he said. When anchors without the collar are used, he said, the rigid sleeve prevents further tightening of the nut.

The "Gold Digger" is available in sizes ranging from 14-inch to 34-inch diameter and from 2½ to 6-inches long.

Bil-Jax Named Distributor
Appointment of Bil-Jax, Inc., Archbold, Ohio, as distributors of the "Steeple-Jenny" line of powered hoists for swing staging, cages and elevating work platforms, has been announced.

Operating on 110/115 Volts, with a hoisting speed of 18 feet per minute average, the unit weighs 80 lbs. less drum, and is manufactured by Timberland-Ellicott, Ltd., Woodstock, Ont., Canada. Capacity of drum is 600 feet of 14 inch wire rope. Safe working load is 800 lbs. per unit. "Steeple-Jenny is offered in both roof mounted and stage-mounted models. Literature and prices available on request to Bil-Jax, Inc., Archbold, Ohio 43502.

CRAMPED QUARTERS
On a warehouse building project in New York's Bronx, the La Sala Mason Corporation of Mt. Vernon, N.Y. had to place building materials between inside scaffolding and ceiling cross beams. And besides the confined working area, material placement was further complicated by mounds of soil and other debris covering the floor area. La Sala minimized the difficulty by using a PCM 710 Skytrak to hoist and place the block and mortar materials. The Skytrak's hydraulically extendable boom and front axle hydraulic stabilizers helped to simplify the lifts.
