Meet Your President
MCAA's newly elected President for 1972-David B. "Mickey" Soloff, Jr. of Chattanooga is typical of today's new breed of progressive mason contractors. Young, knowledgeable and charged with enthusiasm for the industry he represents, Mickey founded his own organization, Larson and Soloff, Inc., in 1957. His firm presently enjoys an enviable reputation for high quality work in a variety of masonry projects encompassing the commercial and industrial fields throughout Eastern Tennessee.
He also serves as President and Treasurer of two other firms Light Weight Concrete Company of Nashville and Foam-Crete Company of Chattanooga, both of which are engaged in the roof deck contracting business.
A graduate civil engineer, Mickey originally was associated with the Power Engineering and Construction Division of the Tennessee Valley Authority and later worked as a masonry estimator before entering business on his own.
He has held numerous important posts in the masonry industry, including those of Treasurer, Secretary, Vice President and President of the Chattanooga Chapter of MCAA as well as being Vice President of MCAA for the past two years. This past year he was in charge of the MCAA Membership Committee in addition to the special committee charged with developing your Association's Five-Year Plan. He also is a member of the Construction Specifications Institute.
A dedicated family man, Mickey and his wife Billie have a daughter and two sons- Beth, 19, David, 20, and Mark, 14.
