Scaffold Safety Items
Safety guardrails and posts, along with toe-board clips that adapt to most all steel scaffolds to comply with OSHA regulations, are offered by Bil-Jax, Inc., Archbold, Ohio. 43502.

Three types of guardrail assemblies consisting of posts and safety rails are shown here and may be used on most any make of tubular steel scaffolding or rolling towers. The toe-board clip permits attachment of standard planking to tubular steel members of the scaffold to prevent accidental kicking off of tools, etc. Further information and prices are available on request.

Carbide-tipped Drill
A new carbide-tipped masonry drill 13" in length for drilling through 12" masonry walls is available from Alba Mfg. Inc., 10-14 Rose Ave., Oxford, Ohio 45056. The drill is being manufactured in diameters ranging from %" to 1" with straight shanks to fit standard electric rotary drills.

The new 13" model is unconditionally guaranteed against breakage or loosening of the tip and breaking of the shank. The carbide tips are peripherally ground so that they are always on exact center, according to Alba.

Major new feature of the unit is a bottom-dump 14 cu. yd. capacity concrete bucket. The bucket is controlled by a self-contained pneumatic system that permits precise dumping at pre-set levels without stress on the tower. The hoist also is available with electric drive and controls, and is capable of lifting loads up to 3,000 pounds to heights up to 200 ft.

Lull Highlift Loader
The new Lull Model 4-D-4 four-wheel drive and steer highlift loader is now available with the 318 CID Chrysler industrial engine as standard equipment. Greater power is also offered in a diesel option utilizing the Waukesha 283 CID engine.

Other changes include the addition of a heavier duty reversing gear incorporating needle and thrust bearings in place of bushings and thrust washers. There are four separate unit models varying from 23 to 41½ ft. heights and lift capacities to 6,000 lbs.
