First man in the firm's history to top $1 million in annual sales Robert P. Yankey has been appointed director of industrial relations of Huron Cement Co., a division of National Gypsum Co., Southfield, Mich. He succeeds Jerome O. Cross who moves up to the newly created post of director of organizational planning.

A joint session of the Oregon Masonry Guild and the Mason Contractors Association, at which eight graduating apprentices were dinner guests, was held April 25 in the Holiday Inn, Portland. The program featured the International Masonry Institute's newest film, "Load Bearing Masonry". Neal English, executive director of the International Masonry Institute, was a guest speaker at the 15th annual meeting of the Unit Masonry Association of Greater Cincinnati on May 7. Contech, Inc., Minneapolis, Minn., hosted the first of seven scheduled distributor training programs for its Sonneborn Building Products Division. Topics covered for the first meeting included concrete floor treatment methods.
