International High-Lift
Just released is a 10-page, full-color brochure describing the International 9000 highlift forklift with capacities to 3,500 lbs, and lift heights to 40½ ft. Replete with drawings, job site illustrations, details and specifications, the brochure offers information on how mason contractors can plan unloading, hauling, stockpiling and lifting, and do them all on schedule with the 9000. Copies of brochure AD-31347-B are available from local International industrial equipment dealers or by writing: Advertising Dept., International Harvester Co., 401 N. Michigan Ave., Chicago, III. 60611.

Material Handling Catalog
Aeroil Products Co., Inc., 96 Wesley St., South Hackensack, N.J. 07606, is offering a 12-page catalog on its material handling equipment. The booklet includes information on hoist wheels, power buggies, conveyors, brick carts, trash chutes and other material handling devices.

New Super-Cut Blades
Super-Cut, Inc., Chicago, a major producer of diamond blades for concrete and masonry cutting, has introduced a new line of lower cost blades designed especially for masonry. Super-Cut's new Value-Rated diamond blade lets mason contractors minimize their investment in blade inventory while delivering "remarkably low" per-piece cutting costs, according to the company. The new 14" blade is available in three types for tile, block or combination cutting. The blade has a full 3/16" diamond matrix depth on the cutting edge, since Super-Cut's exclusive bonding method requires no 1/64"-deep backing strip. For more information, contact Tom Herbst at Super-Cut, Inc., 3418 N. Knox Ave., Chicago, III. 60641.

Air Supported Structures
Pouring a concrete foundation in sub-zero Alaskan temperatures where the ground is frozen most of the year presents a definite problem. But the solution has been found in the use of Tu-Tuf/C-Lock Air Supported Structures produced by Sacther Industries, Inc., 221 N. LaSalle St., Chicago, III. 60601. The building pictured here was erected in Anchorage in less than 3 working days and is an impressive 90' x 180 long and 17' high. It permitted the excavation and concrete foundation to be poured and cured during average temperatures of 10° below zero. Two blowers delivering 6,000 cfm each maintained a stable structure with an average temperature of 55°, allowing thawing and removal of the ground in addition to offering a relatively warm climate for the crew. The Tu-Tuf skin material also permits maximum natural light penetration.

Morgen Pallet System
Morgen Manufacturing Co., Yankton, S.D. 57078, has developed a pallet system for transporting and storing Morgen Tower Scaffolding. The free-standing pallet holds 32 assembled towers, enough to scaffold 232 lineal ft. of wall 20½ ft. high. It can be jacked down to the bed of a 15-ft. or longer flatbed trailer and the stands removed for transport by a one-ton truck. Horizontal members of the pallet are removable so the towers can be loaded and unloaded by a forklift, four towers at a time from either side. Accessories have their place in the lower bed of the pallet, reducing risk of loss.

Calcium Chloride Usage
A new 24-page booklet released by Dow Chemical U.S.A. details the use of calcium chloride in Portland cement concrete. Some of the important subjects discussed in the booklet include: cold weather concreting, the importance of early strength, compressive and flexural strengths, nonbehavioral properties of concrete, the how and when for adding calcium chloride to concrete, guide specifications for calcium chloride in concrete, and safety precautions in handling. The literature may be obtained from any Dow sales office or from Highway Products Sales, Dow Chemical U.S.A., Midland, Mich., 48640.

New PCM Forklift
Dependable performance, less maintenance and more handling ease are benefits offered in the new 5600 Skytrak introduced by the PCM Division of Koehring Co., 369 Western Ave., Port Washington, Wis. The 5600 features a maximum 6000-lb. capacity and a 30-ft. lift height. The 5600 has a stout roller mast that can side-shift 6-in. so loads can be placed exactly where needed. There are six mast options available with a choice of three lift heights-12 ft., 22 ft. and 30 ft. Lift capacities are either 5000 or 6000 lbs. Maximum free lift is 141½ in.
