struction business, and when it does, big things happen.
"We look for gains in construction activity in the neighborhood of 15 to 20 per cent, and 1976 represents the possibility of one of the best construction years in the entire decade of the 1970's."
On Saturday, February 22, the annual meeting was held, with President Charles F. Velardo presiding, at which reports of the President, officers and various committee chairmen were presented to the membership.
In the annual election of Association officers, Robert Ebeling was reelected vice president, Eugene George, secretary, and Robert Harrison, treasurer, to serve with President Velardo.
In the balloting for regional vice presidents, William Dentinger of Milwaukee, Wis., was elected to Region C. succeeding Robert Tubesing, and Gerald Sutherland of Corpus Christi, Texas, was elected to Region E, succeeding Justin Breithaupt.
Reelected regional vice president were: Anthony J. Zotollo, Region A; Mack H. Pettit, Region B: Roy A. Elam, Region D. Louis J. Helbert, Jr., Region F; William "Nels" Smith, Region G; Oscar F. Person, Region H, and R. E. Beaupre, Region I.
Pre-convention activity centered around the Early Bird Golf Tournament on Tuesday, February 18. A second golf outing, the Annual MCAA Golf Tournament, was held Saturday afternoon prior to the Annual Banquet that evening. Because of the unusually large turnout of golfers- more than 100 the annual tournament was divided between two courses, the Magnolia at Disney World and the Poinciana Golf & Racquet Club in nearby Poinciana. Handling the golf arrangements were O. L. Jollay of Atlanta, Ga., Allen Young of Memphis, Tenn., and Robert Harrison of Mt. Prospect, III.
The '75 MCAA Convention drew to a close Saturday evening with a reception and the annual banquet attended by more than 725 guests in the Convention Center. One of the highlights of the colorful affair was the honoring of MCAA executive vice president George A. Miller, who was recognized for his 25 years of service with the Association. He and his wife, Betty, were given a standing ovation by the assembled guests.
Entertainment for the evening was provided by singer Julie Wilson, comic Phil Foster and the Ray Eberle orchestra.
