Signode Strapping Catalog
The all-new, 88-page Catalog 26 produced by Signode Corp., 2600 N. Western Ave., Chicago, III. 60647, contains nearly 200 photos and drawings showing Signode equipment applying steel and plastic strapping to a wide variety of packages and bundles. Units depicted in the catalog range from a simple hand tool costing $13.50 to specialized machines costing more than $600,000.
Among the newer products illustrated is the model MCD machine, Signode's lowest-priced power unit for applying economy-grade Contrax co-polymer strapping. Nine new sizes of Contrax are included along with Dymax II, a nylon material claimed to be the strongest and highest-quality plastic strapping manufactured.
Bullard Abrasive Wheels
Bullard Abrasive Products, Inc., Westboro, Mass., has introduced a new line of reinforced abrasive Type 11 cup wheels specifically designed to meet today's stricter safety requirements. The new cup wheel, designated Saf-T-Clad, nas an exclusive wrap-around reinforcement feature that lessens the chance of wheel breakage in use and also prevents chipping. The reinforcement does not discolor the workpiece and wears down evenly with the abrasive, reducing rounding over of the wheel for increased efficiency and longer life. Saf-T-Clad cup wheels provide up to 12,500 surface-feet-per-minute grinding capability and are available in all standard Type 11 cup wheel sizes for both metal and masonry applications.
Portable Ground Pounder
Claiming a major breakthrough in the design, maintenance requirements and operating efficiency of percussion, rammer-type soil compactors, M-B-W, Inc., Slinger, Wis. 53086, has introduced the R-14 portable ground pounder. Capable of delivering up to 1,800 lbs. of impact per blow at a rate of 600 strokes per minute, the 165-lb. R-14 is designed for use on large lifts of granular as well as cohesive soils.
Of special significance is the lack of lubrication of any kind in the delivery unit, 40% fewer parts than conventional rammers, and complete elimination of enclosed leg cylinders and flexible leg bellows. The easy-to-control R-14 stands 37" high with an extremely low center of gravity.
Badger Forklift Literature
Machine specifications, including standard and optional equipment for both models 6035 and 6045 rough terrain forklifts, are available in literature from Badger Dynamics, Inc., P.O. Box 305, Port Washington, Wis. 53074.
Each machine features three-stage mast construction with heavy-duty rollers that provide a maximum height of 30' 6" and lifts of 6,000 lbs. The machines additionally have full free lift so that the carriage travels to the top of the mast before any increase in mast height occurs.
