UMA Re-Elects Brown
Jack Brown, President of J. & J. Contractors, Inc., has been re-elected President of Unit Masonry Association of Greater Cincinnati, 1314 California Avenue, Cincinnati, Ohio 45237. Other officers elected are: Dennis (Whitey) Bausch of Carl Bausch and Son, mason contractor, who will serve as Vice President of U.M.A.; Jim Stevens of C-Block Inc., re-elected as Secretary Treasurer. The new officers were installed at the sixteenth annual meeting held at Hartwell Country Club on Tuesday evening, May 13.
PCA Report on I/D Floors With LB Masonry Walls
A new special report on residential concrete construction, Low-Rise Apartments with I/D Floors and Masonry Load-Bearing Walls, is now available from Portland Cement Association. Featuring one of the largest applications of PCA's I/D floor-and-roof-system, the Rockingham Glen Home for the Elderly, West Roxbury, Mass., the report contains the step-by-step construction procedure and other valuable hints for builders considering use of the I/D system. Concrete masonry load-bearing walls, which can be used with precast or cast-in-place concrete floors, are discussed.
