Mortar/Plaster Mixer
Stow Manufacturing Co., P.O. Box 490, Binghamton, N.Y. 13902, has gone into production of its model 550 mortar/plaster mixer with 5½ cu. ft. capacity. The unit is available with either a 7 h.p. Briggs & Stratton or Wisconsin engine. It can also be supplied with a 1½ h.p. electric motor, and is available with either high or low speed wheels and axles.

An exclusive feature of the 550 are the "2-in-1" blades. A tough rubber blade is sandwiched between regular steel blades and the paddle arm. When the edge of the rubber blade is exposed, it acts as a squeegee by following the drum contour. For use in very abrasive mixes, the rubber blades are easily removed and the steel blades extended.

British Refractory Anchors
A cost-saving refractory anchoring system from Britain is believed to be the first to eliminate the costly preformed steel anchors used to secure refractory concrete to furnace walls. Called Pyrofix, the system consists of a 0.4" dia. heat-resistant ribbed steel bar cut into required lengths. Since the bar has good retention qualities without shaping, it can be used effectively in straight lengths, although simple bends may be made if required.

The Pyrofix system is now available in the U.S. to prospective customers and agents, and to distributors with stockholding facilities as well as prospective manufacturers under license. Contact: Mr. G. Lydamore, Sales Mgr., George Clark (Sheffield) Ltd., Warren St., Sheffield S4 7WR, England.

Masonry Ladder Hoist
Aeroil Products Co., Inc., 69 Wesley St., South Hackensack, N.J. 07606, has introduced its all-new 400-lb. capacity ladder hoist for mason contractors. The model DB-400 comes in a standard 28' length and can be extended by adding either 4' or 8' sections.

Designed primarily for use by mason contractors for lifting brick and block to the scaffold, the unit is also suitable for roofing materials.

New Guard Rail System
Waco Scaffold & Shoring Company. Schiller Park, Illinois has introduced new one-piece guard rail panel sections for use with standard scaffolding. Each section has a top and mid-guard rail, and a toeboard that adjusts to varying deck thicknesses. Each lift-out panel section is complete in itself, with no loose parts. Fewer parts to handle mean faster erection, easier dismantling. Features help meet O.S.H.A. standards.

New Battery Terminal
An alternative to rusty, corroded, bolted battery terminals is now available in the new battery terminals produced by Quik-Conect Division, Summit Industries, 5704 Hillside Dr., Kansas City, Mo. 64151. The Quik-Conect provides a solid, dependable battery post connection, yet is instantly removable, without tools and with just a flip of the lever.

The device is made of ZNS alloy, a hard, rust and corrosion resistant metal that is chromated to outlast conventional terminals many times with four times the conductivity of lead. The unit is made to SAE standards to fit all lead acid batteries used in all types of motorized equipment including fork lifts.

Safety Item Catalog
Direct Safety Co., 511 Osage, Kansas City, Kan. 66110, is circulating its new, 32-page catalog introducing more than 50 items of safety clothing, gear and equipment. The firm, a division of Goldblatt Tool Co., was formed last year to help fill the growing needs of industries requiring safety products that would meet or exceed OSHA specifications.

Among the items featured in the 4-color catalog are safety goggles, hard hats, first aid kits, oxygen equipment, alarms, signs and protective clothing.

MF Industrial Loaders
Four new industrial tractor loaders with breakout forces from 4,500 to 8,700 Ibs., bucket capacities of up to 1 cu. yd. with single lever controls, and bucket float positions have been introduced by Massey-Ferguson, 1901 Bell Ave., Des Moines, Ia. 50315.

Common operating features on the MF 20C, 30B, 40B and 50C tractor loader models include short turning radius, hydrostatic power steering with manual pump backup, and flotation tires.

Masonry Insulation
Versatile, easy-to-install insulation designed to improve the thermal and acoustical efficiencey of walls in non-residential buildings has been introduced by Owens-Corning Fiberglas Corp., Toledo, Ohio. Called CWI (Commercial Wall Insulation), the energy-conserving products were developed to meet the design requirements of the modern shopping center, government or business building.
