Update on '80 MCAA
Masonry Conference and Educational Trade Show
FEBRUARY 20-27/LOEWS ANATOLE
DALLAS, TEXAS
Here is a brief description of the planned activities for this year's Conference and Show. These program highlights will be augmented in the January issue of "Masonry" with the complete list of speakers, business and social functions, meeting room assignments, and other specific details.
Wednesday, February 20, and Thursday, February 21, 1980
Starting at 1:30 p.m., the MCAA Management Institute will conduct a Pre-Conference Seminar on "Business Planning For the Future." It will highlight the "Closely-Held Corporation" and "Family-Owned Business." This Seminar is designed to provide valuable information to the mason contractor not only in the important areas of taxation and estate disbursement but in helping you to better manage your day-to-day business operations with an aim toward bigger profits.
Note: Special registration must be made for this Seminar on forms provided by the MCAA Executive Office; this is in addition to the Conference Registration fees.
Featured lecturers will be Robert A. Esperti, Senior Partner in the law firm of Thomas and Esperti, Professional Corporation, Denver, Colorado, and Dennis W. Bersch, Partner and Executive National Director for Services to the Construction Industry of the international accounting firm of Touche Rosse & Co., New York City.
Friday, February 22, 1980
Friday has been set aside for Association Business Day. Starting at 8:30 a.m., all MCAA standing committees will officially meet to review their reports to the Executive Board, with the Regional Vice Presidents conducting their conferences at 1:30 p.m. Rounding out the full day of Association business meetings, at 3:00 p.m. the MCAA Executive Board will convene and stay in session until all business is completed.

Saturday morning will be devoted entirely to educational seminars. Promotional activities, ASTM functions, contractor management, and masonry history will highlight this segment of the program. Some of the featured speakers will be Ray Lackey, Executive Director of the International Masonry Institute; Paul Rosensteel, MCAA Western States Field Representative, and Jerry Pope, President of the Colorado Chapter. Additional speakers for this program will be announced in the January issue of Masonry.
On Saturday afternoon we will shift our focus to another important segment of Conference activities the '80 MCAA Educational Trade Show. Beginning with a reception at 2:00 p.m., President George will then officially open the Trade Show at 3:00 p.m. This year's Show promises to provide everyone with a complete and diverse educational exhibit. Every phase of the masonry operation will be on display, with the exhibit booths manned by experts who can provide you with all the technical data you will need.
