Masonry Prominent in SARA Design Awards

Eight architectural firms from across the United States captured 16 professional design awards in the national competition sponsored by the Society of American Registered Architects (SARA).

Entries that depicted completed projects were separated into appropriate divisions according to project construction cost and were further subdivided into 11 other subcategories. The cost categories included projects in excess of $5 million, projects over $1 million but less than $5 million, and projects under $1 million.

The awards were presented at the 1979 convention of the Society in Chicago.

A number of the winning entries represented projects featuring extensive use of masonry construction and are depicted here.
