Carl Roemmele to Direct
Target Products Division

Carl F. Roemmele has been appointed general manager of Target Products Division, Federal-Mogul Corp., Kansas City, Mo. He had been associated for many years with the Specialty Materials Department of General Electric Co., Worthington, Ohio, where he held a number of managerial positions in manufacturing, international sales, and most recently as marketing programs manager responsible for world-wide marketing of industrial diamonds and super-abrasives.

Roemmele holds a bachelor of science degree in electrical engineering from Lawrence Institute of Technology, Southfield, Mich.

Target manufactures a wide range of power saw machines, core drills, diamond and abrasive blades, diamond drill bits and, in recent years, has become a major developer and producer of highway restoration equipment.

Canadian Conference
Set for Winnipeg in May

The 3rd Canadian Masonry Conference has been scheduled for Winnipeg, Manitoba, May 25-27, at the Westin Hotel. The general theme will be "Productivity in Masonry Construction."

Among the topics to be discussed are Masonry Estimating and Job Costing, How to Improve Jobsite Productivity, Managing Your Business in a Depressed Economy, Stress and the Masonry Contractor, Mass and How it Relates to Wall Insulation, and a report on the Canadian Masonry Research Council.

Speakers include Robert Atkins, CDS, Construction Data Systems Ltd., Montreal, P. Q.; Dr. M. N. Maxey, Chair of Free Enterprise, University of Texas; Dr. Gerry Grey, Faculty of Administrative Studies, University of Manitoba; Jack Down, C. A., Thorne Riddell & Partners, Winnipeg; Dr. R. Beamish, Winnipeg, and Carl Linton, P. E., Ontario Ministry of Government Services, Toronto.

The conference is jointly sponsored by the Canadian Masonry Contractors Association, Clay Brick Association of Canada, and the National Concrete Producers Association.
