Gradall Purchased from
Allied by Investor Group

Gradall, manufacturer of rough terrain forklifts and hydraulic excavators, has been purchased from Allied Corp. by an investor group headed by Gradall president C. William Gray.

Gradall, based in New Philadelphia, Ohio, will now function as an independent company. It had been part of Warner & Swasey Co. since 1946. Warner & Swasey was subsequently acquired by Bendix Corp. in 1980 and, less than two years later, Bendix was acquired by Allied Corp.

The same investor group that has purchased Gradall also spearheaded the acquisition of the Loed Material Handler line of construction forklifts for Gradall.

Laser-welded Saw Blades
Introduced by Target

Target Products Division, Federal-Mogul Corp., Kansas City. Mo.. has introduced a new line of laser-welded Dri Disc diamond blades.

With conventional blades, the various diamond segments are brazed to the periphery of a steel core, and it is essential that these blades be used with a coolant. In contrast, Dri Disc blades have segments that are laser-welded to the core. This means the blades can be used for dry cutting.

Target says the new blades are excellent for use on adobe brick, common brick, slate, fluted block, concrete block, prestressed plank and T-beams, cinder block and, among others, dolomite refractory.

For more information on dry-cutting, laser-welded diamond blades, contact Target Products Division, Federal-Mogul Corp., 4330 Clary Blvd.. Kansas City, Mo. 64130.
