MCAA "Industry Tour"
To Take in Brussels
& Paris in October

MCAA members and their families have an opportunity to join MCAA's "Industry Tour," October 14-24, and visit two of Europe's most historic and exciting cities-Brussels and Paris. The ten-day trip will begin immediately following MCAA's Fall Executive Board Meeting at the Mariner's Inn on Hilton Head Island, S.C., October 11-14.

Tour members can choose either of three departure points Atlanta, New York City or Chicago. The three groups will then join up at the Hyatt Regency Brussels for the balance of the tour.

The program has been well-designed to take in all the prominent points of interest in the cities of Brussels and Paris as well as the countries of Belgium and France. For a detailed summary, including a reservation form, please turn to page 32 of this issue.

Ontario Fund Presents
Engineering Seminar

The Ontario Masonry Industry Promotion Fund recently presented a seminar on Engineered Masonry at the Triumph Sheraton Hotel in Toronto.

The guest lecturer was Prof. John I. Glanville, associate professor in the Department of Civil Engineering. Faculty of Engineering, University of Manitoba. His presentation was based on his book Engineered Masonry which is based on Canadian code.

Chicago/DuPage Smoker

The Mason Contractor Associations of DuPage County and Greater Chicago joined forces to co-host their Annual Smoker at the Elmhurst Country Club, Elmhurst, Ill., April 17.

DuPage County MCA treasurer Tony Luczynski acted as master of ceremonies for the evening, assisted by Al Wendt, president, and Paul Schroeder, executive secretary.

St. Louis MCA Appoints
Freeman Executive VP

The Mason Contractors Association of St. Louis has appointed Carl F. Freeman to the newly created post of executive vice president.

In this capacity, Freeman will assist member contractors in promoting efficiency and progress in the art of masonry construction. He will also assist association officers and trustees in planning and conducting a variety of programs and services for all elements of the St. Louis masonry industry.

For the past 21 years, Freeman has been a public affairs officer at U.S. Air Force installations in the U.S. and overseas. He is a graduate of the University of Alabama with a degree in radio and TV broadcasting.
