'89 MCAA Conference Report
Las Vegas, NV, March 9-14, 1989
With seven straight days of beautiful sunshine and eighty degree temperatures, the '89 MCAA Conference just had to be a winner and it was! A record turnout in attendance, a sold out exhibition hall and an action packed seminar and speakers program made this year's meeting one that will be hard to beat.
As in the past, attendance at the Pre-Conference Seminars was at capacity. Managing and Financing Independent Business, and the ACI/ASCE 530 Masonry Code seminars were 30% more than estimated attendance, while Stone Panels III soared over 100% with 92 persons participating.
Managing and Financing Independent Business, conducted by Steven LeFever, President, Business Resources Services, Seattle, WA, started the entire meeting off at 9:00 A.M. on Thursday morning and ran until late on Friday afternoon. It covered such subjects as Using Financial Statements as Management Tools, Financial Statements, Profit Planning/Cash Budgeting, Cash Flow, and on through Dealing With Financial Sources & Bankers. The vast majority of those attending rated this seminar as excellent.
On Friday morning, the 530 Code and Stone Panels III seminars started. Mario Catani, Gregg Borchelt, Dick Felice and Don Grant discussed in detail the new code and its accompanying specification.
