Saturday, February 20 as the exhibit floor officially closed, enthusiastic attendees gathered at Universal Studios Florida for a final farewell evening. Keeping in line with the notion to continually exceed expectations, the MCAA extended the invitation to include exhibitors in the farewell banquet and exclusive evening at Universal Studios Florida. This idea had not been practiced in years past, but realistically provides enhanced opportunities to solidify relationships being built over the course of the week.
Nearly 700 guests wandered the park and experienced attractions on their own for the first hour of the reception. As the park cleared out the daytime guests, the MCAA attendees viewed the Mardi Gras parade from a special VIP area. Immediately after the parade celebrity look-a-likes mingled with guests who enjoyed a banquet in the New York Street Lot. Trying to fit all the attractions in proved to be a challenge. Only the truly adventurous could indulge in all that was offered: a live Blues Brothers Show, Kongfrontation, Twister-Ride It Out, Earthquake, Back to the Future, and Terminator 2:3-D. The evening was a memory for the lifetime. The MCAA would like to thank the corporate sponsors for making the evening an overwhelming success: Dow Chemical Company, Hohmann and Bernard, Traverse Lift, and Trus Joist Mac Millan. Plans are already in the works for next year's MCAA Annual Convention and MASONRY SHOW. Make plans to be in Las Vegas, February 7-10 at the Rio Hotel and Convention Center to experience a program even more inventive!
