VA RESTORATION BRICK CLEANING - MILWAUKEE, WI
The tall tower of the Veterans Administration Hospital's Building #2, also called the Main Building, has been referred to as a "great mastodon" as it dominates the surrounding area. The VA Hospital building is the largest and only Victorian Gothic, "cream city" landmark-type structure in the United State to be cleaned chemically.
Diedrich's masonry restorer was applied to remove deteriorating, blackening elements. After pressure-washing to remove the chemical, the structure was transformed into its original butter color. The yellow color is unique to this area as a result of glacial activity the farther south, the redder the clays used to make brick are.
