MITA AND CCMCA HOST MASONRY COMPETITIONS
The Michigan Infrastructure and Transportation Association (MITA) and the Construction and Masonry Contractors Association (CCMCA) recently hosted the 2024 Masonry Apprentice Skills Contest and the 2024 Masonry Skills Challenge.
The Apprentice Skills Contest, held on April 26 at the Michigan Laborers’ Training and Apprenticeship Institute in Perry, Michigan, featured apprentices from across the state showcasing their skills in various masonry techniques.
The Skills Challenge, held on May 3 at the CCMCA Training Center in Brighton, Michigan, pitted journeymen masons against each other in a timed competition to build a complex masonry structure.
Both events highlighted the importance of skilled trades and the dedication of individuals pursuing careers in the masonry industry. The competitions also provided valuable opportunities for networking and professional development.
MDOT RECOGNIZES OUTSTANDING TRANSPORTATION PROJECTS
The Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT) recently honored several outstanding transportation projects with its annual Partnering Awards. These awards recognize collaborative efforts between MDOT and its partners that result in innovative, efficient, and high-quality transportation solutions.
