Kirchner Block & Brick Hosts Seminar
Kirchner Block & Brick hosted a VERSA-LOK Retaining Wall Systems Installation Seminar in St. Louis for more than 180 St. Louis-area landscape contractors on Jan. 29. Contractors were invited to learn the latest installation techniques, engineering fundamentals, design characteristics and tips on accurate estimating from authorized VERSA-LOK Retaining Wall Systems technical experts at the seminar. Grote Industries Promotes Forner
Grote Industries promoted Matt Forner to director of aftermarket sales. Forner will lead the growth of Grote's U.S. Aftermarket Sales Division, which includes both traditional and heavy-duty sales teams. He began his career at Grote in 1993 as a heavy-duty field sales manager for Grote's Illinois, Missouri and lowa territories. Since then, his career has been focused on product and sales management in Grote's aftermarket business arena.
NFL's Jared Allen Wins Sakrete Sack Contest
Kansas City Chiefs defensive end Jared Allen won the 2007 NFL Sakrete Sack Program. Allen was credited with 15.5 quarterback sacks during the 2007 NFL regular season and raised $10,000 for HomeAid, a national, non-profit provider of housing for the homeless.
Caterpillar Names JLG as 2008 Vendor
JLG Industries Inc., a designer, manufacturer and marketer of access equipment, has been named a 2008 Cat Rental Store preferred vendor. Each year, Caterpillar reviews and selects companies based on a review of their products features and benefits, product support capabilities, training and distribution capabilities and Cat dealer satisfaction survey performance.
A ribbon cutting ceremony was held at the facility on Jan. 24 to mark the official start of production in the new section of the plant. On hand to take part in the ceremony were John Salvatore, CEO of BASF Construction Chemicals North America; Dr. Bernhard Hofmann, global president of BASF Construction Chemicals; Rich Kurey, director of operations for BASF Construction Chemicals; and employees of the Brighton plant.
