BonWay Expands
Construction Materials Line
The BonWay division of Bon Tool Co. has expanded its line of construction chemicals to include sealers, cure and seals products, and specialty chemicals designed for professional use. These products benefit contractors, architects, engineers and other construction professionals for concrete, masonry and hard-scape applications.
BonWay offers a complete array of products that will meet the desired standards for various indoor and outdoor projects. When selecting the proper sealing compounds for concrete, masonry, paver or decorative concrete jobs, a number of factors will be considered. ASTM standards, resistance to UV light, percent of solids content, solvent versus water based, VOC requirements and color matching are all important properties in choosing the right product for the job. For aesthetics purposes, one may also choose high gloss, medium or a matte finish. Bon specialty products include Gator Grip anti-slip additive, form release and concrete cleaning detergent.
RMC Research & Education
Foundation Releases Study
The Ready Mixed Concrete (RMC) Research & Education Foundation has released the latest addition to its extensive pervious concrete library of offerings. "Performance Evaluation of In-Service Pervious Concrete Pavements in Cold Weather."
The research, completed at the University of Minnesota, was performed in cooperation with the Minnesota Department of Transportation (MnDOT) and their Pavement Testing Facility-MnROAD. It includes a comprehensive evaluation of the use of pervious concrete in cold weather and examined such issues as impermeability causes, mix design, a rheological study and a pavement structural analysis. The researchers reviewed previous pervious concrete studies and also made recommendations for future areas of research on the topic.
Although quite large in size, the new pervious concrete study is available for download at www.rmc-foundation.org.
