Jungheinrich dealer donates lift truck to foodbank

Words: Margaret FosterOhio-based Jungheinrich® lift truck dealer, Towlift, Inc. (Towlift), recently donated a Jungheinrich lift truck to the Mid-Ohio Foodbank. The Mid-Ohio Foodbank will use the 4,000 lb. capacity stand-up end control lift truck at its main warehouse center to assist with the food distribution to locations in central and eastern Ohio.

Last year, the Foodbank distributed more than 46 million pounds of food to residents in central and eastern Ohio. The new lift truck will support the Foodbank’s mission by helping to get large loads of food in and out of the warehouse for distribution.

“We have experienced a 49% growth in distribution and have a real need for equipment to keep our warehouse running,” said Matt Habash, CEO of Mid-Ohio Foodbank. “Towlift has been a huge supporter of us since the opening of this warehouse, and we are excited about their continued generosity.”

This donation marks the third Jungheinrich lift truck that Towlift has donated to the Mid-Ohio Foodbank in support of the food bank’s mission. In 2008, Towlift donated a Jungheinrich ETG 340 electric forklift for use in their newly redesigned warehouse and distribution center.

This year, Towlift has also partnered with the Mid-Ohio Foodbank, during its 2013 Operation Feed Friends & Family Fundraising campaign. Together, their goal is to raise $6,000, which will provide 17,000 meals for local families in need.
