Note from a Retiree
George Miller:
Hope all is well with you and your family. I follow your activities through the various journals and you have come a long way since we first met. Say hello to my friend Walter Laughlin (now president of BAC Local 21, Illinois Ed.) when you see him. His dad and I worked as bricklayer partners and Walter was my water boy on the Bell & Howell job in 1942. Regards,

Hilton J. Swensen

High Speed High Jinks

George Miller:
"Bill Dentinger, Inc. along with the skilled bricklayers and laborers of BAC Local No. 9 and LIUNA Local No. 1086 were pleased to furnish the labor, materials and equipment necessary to complete the brick, block and stone work to build a modern, secure correctional institution utilizing the lasting qualities of traditional masonry construction."

Thought you might be interested in a newspaper advertisement (above) we ran in the August 13, 1986 edition of the Oshkosh Northwestern. This edition featured the new minimum security correctional institution we built at Oshkosh, Wisconsin.

On a more important note, you may be pleased to note that this past weekend was the first time this season that the "Beady Eye Vintage Triumph Racing Team" was able to use its new "high speed" racing shoes and matching team jackets. (These were presented to Bill and his wife Shirley, who are avid antique car racing buffs, at the Annual Banquet earlier this year during the MCAA Annual Conference in St. Petersburg Beach, Fla.-Ed.)

We ran at Road America in the Vintage Group of the Sports Car Club of America's Kettle Moraine Midwest Regional Finals. We were the oldest car at the meet (1955 Triumph TR3), and we finished FIRST in class (Sports Production Cars Under 2 Liters) and SECOND overall. It was a 50-mile race, in which we started third, took the lead in the first turn, and even led for 12 miles. That was a kick, when you consider the field included a 1968 Shelby Mustang GT-350, which started first. It really makes those big honker V-8s mad, when our little snot-nozed four-cylinder Triumph gets in front of them in the corners. I am convinced it was the new high-speed racing shoes and matching team jackets. It was great! Two ladies thought I was Paul Newman... bending over. Thanks for the equipment. You'd have been proud.

Graffiti Control

Editor:
IMRS is introducing "Shield," a revolutionary transparent coating which protects walls and rejects graffiti. The two-part, easy-to-apply system chemically reacts with paint or markers to slow the drying time and stops the graffiti from penetrating into the brick pores, which allows for easy cleaning.

While the product is successfully used throughout Europe, we will be selling this product in the United States for the first time. Presently we are reviewing the available trade publications for our promotional program. Please send circulation information, advertising rates, and a recent edition of your publications which you feel are most suitable for our market.
