Senate Get Elected

It is vital to insuring that common sense legislation is passed and overbearing regulations are eliminated that the Senate get elected. This past election, MCAA's Political Action Committee doubled the amount of contributions it gave to candidates for federal office. The MCAA PAC contributions are not part of your membership dues. These PAC funds are additional contributions given by interested MCAA members who make these contributions to the PAC out of their own personal funds. I urge all MCAA members to make a personal contribution to the MCAA PAC so that we can become more affective in getting friends of the masonry industry elected to Congress.

Masonry Magazine Improved

It has been exciting to watch MASONRY Magazine steadily improve over the past year. I think we can now all be proud of the quality of your association's magazine. After all, as members of the MCAA, we are all owners of MASONRY Magazine. The quantity and quality of the features have continued to improve and become more valuable to the mason contractor. In fact, I am sure that you will agree with me that MASONRY Magazine is now a publication to look forward to receiving.

Directory Expanded To Include Alphabetical Listing Of Members For Faster Reference

This past year, we expanded the MCAA Membership Directory. We added an alphabetical listing of each member to make it easier to find fellow members as well as making it easier for our industry's customers to find you as well.

Tiered Membership Dues Implemented

As all of you are aware, we implemented a tiered membership dues structure. This has brought a more equal distribution of dues as well as provided for a more fair method of paying dues. We all now support the MCAA on an ability to pay. This has also made it a little easier to get the smaller mason contractors to join and participate with MCAA's efforts to build a better masonry industry for everyone.

Net Membership Growth

Once again, MCAA has experienced net membership growth. We now have more members this year than last year which is a strong testament of the value members place in membership in the MCAA. In fact we have experienced net membership growth for the last five years. It's difficult for any association to do everything for every member and to have every member agree with everything the association does. Undoubtedly, MCAA members feel that we have been doing an overall great job. As an MCAA member, I am proud as I'm sure you are as well of all of the accomplishments that we have achieved this past year. In fact, we have achieved so much, that many in our industry compare the MCAA to other industry organizations that have budgets six, eight or ten times the budget of your MCAA. That is a real testament of the professionalism and hard work provided by the members and staff of the MCAA who worked so hard all year long to make this a reality.
