The Arizona Masonry Guild’s 20th Annual Excellence in Masonry Architectural Awards program recognizes outstanding masonry projects featuring brick, block and stone. Awards will be given to the architectural firm, structural engineering firm, general contractor, major masonry supplier, and masonry contractor for each winning project in recognition for their excellent design, workmanship and creativity. The project owner will also be recognized.

Entries will be judged by a distinguished panel of Nevada jurors — chaired by Max Hershenow, AIA.

Mr. Hershenow is one of the two founding principals of H+K Architects in Reno, Nevada. Since the firm's founding in 1994, he has provided design and project leadership for a broad range of building types including educational, military, commercial, governmental and healthcare. Mr. Hershenow's work has been recognized with national and local awards for design excellence, including 4 national United States Air Force Design Excellence Awards. He is currenlty on the Board of Directors of AIA Northern Nevada and AIA Nevada. He is the President-Elect of AIA Nevada in 2011.

Registration fee is $125 per project and is due along with the “Intent to Submit an Entry” registration form. Upon receipt of registration form and entry fee — the entrant will receive an official Submittal Entry packet to be completed and returned to the AMG office by July 14, 2011.

Presentation of Awards will take place at the Excellence in Masonry Architectural Awards Banquet on October 21, 2011 at the Scottsdale Resort & Conference Center. Invitations to the awards banquet will be mailed in August.
