gate, walk and bike racks
Brick is used simply yet with great elegance to create a handsome privacy wall, basket weave walkway, garden borders, and - in an unusual note - bike racks for the children. The racks are made of double rows of soldier-course bricks.
trash and garbage enclosures
The location of trash storage is always a problem in suburban houses. It must be convenient to the kitchen, easily accessible to the collection crew, and yet should be concealed from public view. Here is an example of how brick can transform such an enclosure from something ugly into something handsome. It is durable, easily hosed down, and well-ventilated by openings which also create a decorative pattern. Brick's fireproof qualities also make it ideal for incinerator use, as shown here.
