You can work safely on virtually any uneven surface with Xtenda-Leg ladder levelers from K.O. Products. Constructed of heavy gauge zinc plated steel, the device attaches to ladder legs with 4 bolts. When not in use as a leveler or extender, the unit retracts for use as a safety foot. Information from K.Ο. Products, Inc., 15301 Ventura Blvd., Suite 300, Sherman Oaks, CA 91403-3102.

A new cornering and closure system for glazed concrete masonry walls is covered in a brochure detailing how the new Spectra-Glaze Trym-Saver System streamlines installation of glazed concrete block on corners, jambs, sills, heads, etc. The units lock quickly, accurately and securely into the wall structure. Contact: Burns & Russell Co., PO Box 6063, Baltimore, MD 21231.

The new Model RU-106 infra-red radiant heater with UL listing has been introduced by Aeroil Products Co. The unit meets OSHA requirements and comes complete with pilot light, 2 pressure regulators, safety shut-off, excess flow cylinder and 10 ft. of hose. The heater has an output of 106,000 BTUs, and because the heat output is from infra-red rays, workmen can feel the heat 30 ft. away, the company says. New Product Aims at Foiling Leaky Basements

After extensive research and development, Owens-Corning Fiberglas Corp. announced it has developed what is believed to be the first basement waterproofing product for new home construction. Called Tuff-N-Dri, the product is a polymer-modified asphalt composition that, unlike damp-proofing products, stretches to bridge basement wall cracks, virtually eliminating leaks and the costly repairs they require. It is the only product of its kind supported by a certified waterproofing contractor program and available with a warranty, Owens-Corning said.

"Our research shows that leaky basements are a major problem for homeowners and homebuilders alike" said Dennis Modrich, manager of Owens-Corning's Protective Coatings Division. "We found that fifty-nine percent of American households have leaky basements, and for every new basement that leaks there's a builder who loses about $3,000 on the callback to repair it. If the sales contract has expired, then it's the homeowner who suffers. He or she will have to foot expensive repair bills, never knowing when another leak might develop."

# Strength and Elasticity
In response to these findings, Owens-Corning said it spent two years developing Tuff-N-Dri, that, when sprayed on concrete block or poured concrete basement walls at a thickness of 35-40 mils under laboratory testing, can withstand an 8 ft. head of water. If cracks should develop in those walls, the coating, unlike commonly-used damp-proofing products, will stretch to bridge the cracks, thus preventing leakage and consequent water damage, Owens-Corning said. "It offers true waterproofing, not just damp-proofing," according to Modrich.

He added that the product can be used on basements in virtually any type of soil; acids, bases and salts have no effect on its flexibility and elongation. Nor will it degrade when confronted with mold and bacterial attack, Modrich said.

Because of the spray-on process, a two-man crew can apply more than 1,500 sq. ft. of the product per hour-fast enough to keep most projects on or ahead of schedule, according to Modrich.

Available from JCB Inc. is a new multi-purpose bucket attachment for both the 525B-HL and 530B-HI Turbo telescopic boom lift trucks. The unit provides a greater range of functions for contractor on-site prep work or site clean-up. The company claims it is the only telescopic boom lift truck manufacturer offering such a bucket for these machines.
