Masonry In The Round

Structure: Soo View Realty Building, Miami, Florida
Masonry: Cook & Pruitt Masonry Contractors, Inc.
Architects: Polovitzky, Johnson & Associates

One of the most striking new buildings to be built is the Sea View Realty Building on Brickell Avenue. Complete architectural and engineering for the $400,000 building was done by Polevitzky, Johnson & Associates with MCAA member, Cook & Pruitt, the Masonry Contractors. The specially designed concrete solar screen which faces the entire outer facade of the circular structure were made by the Dunan Brick Yards. The units which are 24 in. x 8 in. x 6 in. were pre-molded at the Dunan Yard and then erected by the Cook & Pruitt firm.

The circular building has an attractive inner court on which the various offices open. The lobby features a beautifully designed pond with interesting floral and rock elements.

This photo review is one of the many fine displays exhibited by MCAA members at the 1963 Convention in Pittsburgh.
