Beauty, Dignity

These photographs clearly illustrate how beauty and dignity can be expressed through the use of fine masonry materials and expert craftsmanship.

Catholic Altar, Conservation Center, Susanville, Calif. This is one of nine structures for which State Architect, Carl C. McElvy, recently received from the UMA of Northern California Honor Awards for "outstanding design and excellence in the use of unit masonry."

Lewer archways of the recently completed Administration Building for the Church of the Epiphany, St. Louis County, Mo. Charles T. Berger of Berger-Lendrum-Field, Architects, Inc., St. Louis, designed the new addition and also supervised the master planning and site development. The building houses the administrative offices, facilities for conference groups, classrooms and areas for social activities.

The altar of Hillcrest Covenant Church. Architects were Mantel & Steele and DiCarlo Construction Co., using native ledge.
