Those attending the MCAA Golf Tournament or MCAA seminars or the Spouse Program are suggested to arrive on this date. Special Conference rates are available for all arriving on this date.
Thursday, February 6
8:00am until 4:00pm the MCAA Registration desk will be open to register all participants.
8:00am until 4:00pm Estimating for a Profit. The first of a two part seminar designed to assist so you will be able to standardize your estimating methods and reduce the amount of time required to prepare a complete and well organized estimate which can be used by the mason contractor or superintendent to help control production costs. This seminar will be led by Jerry Pope. Cost for the two day seminar is $250.00 for MCAA Members and $295.00 for Non-Members and includes books and supplies and lunch both days.
9:00am MCAA Expo Golf Tournament at the Osprey Ridge Golf course in Walt Disney World Resort. Included are green fees, cart, and an awards luncheon and more. Price for the golf outing is $145.00 per person.
3:00pm "Getting In The Door, Getting Out With The Order". This seminar is designed to assist attendees with the methods of how to get past the secretary and conduct a sales call with a potential customer to increase your chances of "Getting Out With The Order." This seminar will be led by Dr. Janet Sanders from the Clayton Consulting Group based in St Louis. Price for this seminar is $75.00 for MCAA Members and $120.00 for Non-Members
3:30pm "Welcome to Orlando" is the welcoming reception for the MCAA Spouses program. This will be an orientation to Orlando and all the activities available in the greater Orlando area. Only those signed up for the Spouse program will be admitted. Price for the full Spouse Program is $85.00 per MCAA Member Spouse & $120.00 per Non-Member Spouse.
Day 2 Friday, February 7
8:00am until 4:00pm The MCAA registration desk will be open to register all conference & Expo attendees. An Orlando information desk & discount ticket booth will be open at this time.
8:00am MCAA Seminars "Estimating for A Profit" will conclude its two part seminar. "What Your Customer Sees" This seminar will be conducted by Dr. Janet Sanders. It covers the image that your firm projects to your customers through brochures, logos, your trucks, and other promotional methods. The image that you project directly affects your ability to get the next job. Price for this seminar is $75.00 for MCAA Members and $120.00 for Non-Members.
"GlassBlock" This seminar will feature topics such as manufacturing of glass block, promotion of glass masonry to the home builder and architect, suggested production techniques, installation specifications, and trouble shooting. Representatives from Pittsburg Corning and glass block distributors will discuss the above topics. $100.00 for MCAA Members and $150.00 for Non-Members.
9:00am "Magic in Pictures" The second of a four event Spouse Program will cover the art of taking a better picture for the seasoned photographer or beginner.
12:00noon MCAA Chapter Staff Meeting. (For Chapter Staff Only)
2:00pm MCAA Opening Session: President Richard Felice will officially welcome the conference attendees and give the Presidents annual "State of the Association" address. Mr. Gerard Scannell, the Under-Secretary for OSHA will be the Featured Speaker for the Opening Session. With OSHA becoming more prevalent on the construction job site, Mr. Scannell's remarks will be most timely & insightful.
4:30pm MCAA Regional Breakout Sessions. General topics will be covered in these regional meetings. MCAA Regional Vice Presidents will lead discussions of the key issues that face mason contractors in each region.
